Sunday Morning Review

Can you tell I have nothing to do? Or rather, nothing I want to do, or feel I have to do enough to do it. I'm actually mostly packed, I'm not really sure what to bring. This is the first time I've ever been allowed to leave anything in my dorm room over a break (last year I was moving). And I really don't want to study history. I really really should, because if I don't get an A in that class I will hate myself. But. But. Studying? Please. I haven't done school work since 10:15 last Thursday.

So this weekend has been pretty nice though. Except for my stupid destruction of my left palm and knee. It's getting better though. Yesterday Kaydo and I made fudge and cookies (my solution to needing to give lots of people Christmas gifts- baking!)

M. is not coming to see my castle :-( But it's probably my fault somehow. Or the buses. Stupid buses. Still. I'll be home soon. So I'll just focus on that.

I Know My Calculus

but I don't need to anymore. Still, for the next...until I forget, if someone were to accost me in a dark alley and say, "Quick what's the derivative of 3x to the 4th plus 2x to the 3rd minus 6?" I'd be all "Please, that is sooooo easy, give me a hard one!" And then they'd shoot me in the chest for being annoying. So I guess I should forget quickly, because this calc stuff is liable to get me killed.

I have done very little work this week since Monday. I pretty much finished my American Studies paper Monday. I don't remember what else I did. Probably ate dinner, maybe did some more work? Definately made cookies (it was my 8 month anniversary, if such an anniversary exists). Tuesday I did a little more on my paper, went out to lunch with my "boss" and Kaydo, my Engineer and I went grocery shopping-- we may have gotten too domestic this week, we made dinner, I had an ALF thing, and there was sleep. Wednesday I studied math, turned in my American Studies paper, made pizza, decided I needed to sleep in my own bed, did so.

So in like three days, I definately did not do much work. But I did enjoy myself. And I haven't been terribly stressed out, I pretty much don't care anymore. Not a great attitude, but well. I'm tired okay? I feel done with school. And I am actually 75% as of 10:15 this morning.

My plans for the rest of the day, in case you were wondering, include: Indian food with cool people, making chapter outlines, doing my laundry, and cleaning. Should be a fun filled day...

Gotta Get Through This- Finals Week Begins

Thwump. The sound of my head hitting the keyboard. One final paper to go. Two finals to study for. I just want to lay around and...well that's it actually. I just want to lay around. No! I want to bake too. That's my plan for later, because I did work today for like....well. A long time if you count all the hours I was "working", not exactly that long if you're counting actually time spent doing something constructive. But writing a paper is like that. You spend a lot of time checking your e-mail. Hmm.

This weekend was AWESOME. Friday evening was the McKelvy Holiday party-- yummy food, good people. It's catered by the school and attended by professors, but also we get to invite ten students each, so it was a good crowd. My advisor made fun of me for not introducing him to my Engineer. That night was pretty laid back, but I spent it with my Engineer, so that was wonderful. Saturday I went out to brunch lunch with all my roomies and all our boyfriends. It was awesome. I also did work (boo).

Saturday night was the winter Phi Kappa Psi formal. I had an excellent time. B____ knows why... I wore the slutty dress M. in case you were wondering. I feel good about the choice. I danced, I ate yummy veggies, I did other things... I talked to people, and I spent more time with my Engineer. :-D It was a combination of many of my favorite things: getting dressed up, eating carrot sticks, and most importantly spending time with my Engineer. Hmm. Maybe I should have put some kind of warning at the beginnging of this paragraph. Oh well. My Engineer and I both looked quite spiffy, he was wonderfully dapper, and I was not too hidiously ugly. Picture will probably go up on facebook.

Sunday I churched it up despite getting five hours of sleep. Which I have to say is a pretty sucky amount. You got too much to have the rush you get when you sleep four hours or less, but not as much energy as you would if you'd gotten six or seven hours. Then I went to a Christmas party. Then I worked on stupid papers. Then I went to another Christmas party. Then I worked more. Then I went to "Midnight" Mass. It was interesting. The Catholics didn't stone me for daring to enter their church. So that was good. And they sang songs I knew. And it was nice to go to church with my Engineer. Although I'm now even more sure that I'm just meant to be a Presbyterian. It just fits me. Religion should feel like that.

After church we went briefly to a frisbee party that was conviently held in my basement. Then I was like "Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" and decided it was time for bed. Actually slept until 10AM this morning. Probably the latest I've slept on a Monday in a LONG time. I love love love not having class anymore. Can college be like this always? Except for all the insane stress of finals...

Anyway. That's pretty much it. See you all sooooooon. Especially M. who is coming to visit me. :-D M. will recieve pancakes for her wonderfulness. This is an open offer to all of you: anyone who comes to visit me will receive pancakes in honor of their awesomeness. Think about that.

Joy

is finishing a paper. Which is to say I finished one of my final papers. Which means I am done 25% of my classes. If only I felt my other paper were doable I could really rejoice.

Also. Kaydo and I went Christmas tree shopping. We are pretty much the best tree picker-outers ever. If anyone asks. Then I had a super fun time decorating. It was a much better use of my time than aforementioned impossi-paper.

Going to a frat party, bye! No just kidding, it's not like that. But really I am.

Oh! And I heart M. who is coming to visit me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
